Miami Vice: My Guide to the Magic City

I had been to Miami a few times when I was younger and loved the vibe, but I had the best time ever when I went back after turning 21! It was a spontaneous decision to go with friends toward the end of Art Basel (a huge art fair with lots of cool galleries and fun parties) and I'm so glad I went. Read on to find out my fave spots in the city!

Miami has a ton of cool oceanfront hotels but my favorites are the Faena and the Edition. The Faena is basically an art exhibit itself—the décor is so on point, the bright colors are the perfect vibe and the artwork is amazing. It's also home to one of my favorite bars, The Saxony. The Edition is such a chic spot by day and the ultimate party at night. It has an underground nightclub with a bowling alley and an ice skating rink!

The Webster is classic Miami Beach shopping. It's located in a historical art deco building and carries all the best brands. For vintage, C. Madeleine's is the most amazing place. Opened by a former interior designer in the '90s, it's one of the world's largest vintage showrooms. I could spend hours in there! Miami also has a great interior design scene. Niba Home in the design district has the coolest, most eclectic pieces.

Fresh fish is the name of the game in Miami and it doesn't get any better than Bazaar Mar by José Andrés at the SLS Hotel. Everything is so fresh and the décor is mermaid-themed! For yummy Mediterranean food (and the prettiest dinnerware), Byblos is the place to go. Their flatbreads are to die for. Another fave is Matador Room at the Edition Hotel. The food is so bomb for brunch, lunch or dinner—the space is just really sexy.

For a dose of culture, the Pérez Art Museum Miami is incredible. It opened in its new space in 2013 and always has some amazing new exhibition. That said, there's no shortage of activities in Miami! My friends and I rode on boats, looked at galleries, partied and watched the sunset on the beach while drinking rosé. It was the perfect vacation because I didn't have anything I had to do and could just fully enjoy my time. I'll definitely be back soon!
